  We politely asked our waiter for a second bowl of rice because the first one was so small that it was almost gone from just dividing it between two people, and he looked at our bowl and literally said, "you haven't finished your first one, you can have another one when you finish this one." To two people older than him, as if we were children. The way he said it he had no idea how rude he was being. Even if the bowl wasn't nearly empty, they were so small--and rice costs so little--it didn't even make sense to say that. What was possibly so hard to just do as we asked?
