  Don't have surgery here. He's a really nice man. However, there was nothing else good about this and I'll have a limp the rest of my life because of my surgery. Plus, they won't explain that their surgery center of choice is an out of your insurance network center until after it's over, meaning I paid thousands more out of pocket for the anesthesiologist and bill from the surgery center in the same building as their office. Last, I sure wish he would have covered the low success rates with my surgery. I was much worse off after my surgery and despite 3 different physical therapist attempts over 18 months straight, I'm unable to run, jump, and walk normal, all of which I could do easily before my surgery. 4 years later, I'm still in way worse shape and will be for life.

  Would highly recommend Dr. Niemi and his team at Carolina Foot and Ankle. I originally went for several problems (toenail fungus, bunion and hammertoe). I was given clear recommendations for solutions with the long term advantages, disadvantages, and costs explained clearly. I elected to go forward with medication for the fungus (which has cleared up, happily) and have the surgery for bunion/hammertoe. the instructions pre and post operation were clear and the surgery and recovery were much less painful than I had anticipated - which was a pleasant surprise. My follow up appointments were scheduled quickly and I never waited in the office more than a few minutes. I'm pleased with the outcome and . would highly recommend him for any foot or ankle problems!
